Loretta B. Hanes 70, beloved wife, mother and founder of Dad’s Follies, lost her battle with Cancer on January 12,2005  at The Alamance Regional Medical Center.  She is survived by her husband Bruce Hanes, five children; Cherie Baughman, Vicki Siarnacki, Bruce Hanes Jr., Thomas Hanes, Gregory Hanes and nine Grandchildren. 

          Loretta was born in Hatton, N.D. and was the daughter of Julian and Eleanor Bye.  She attended North Dakota State University where she met her husband of more than 50 years.

The company she founded specialized in selling Chocolate and ice cream  molds at shows and more recently on the internet.  She had great delight in teaching people about the molds and watching them get as excited as she was. She had also appeared on various TV shows including Martha Stewart’s Living and HGTV’s Flea Market Finds with the Kovels.  Our family will miss her, but will continue to carry on the business with the special zest and spirit that was Mom.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00pm on January 20, 2005 at St. Mark’s Reformed Church Chapel, 1230 St. Mark’s Church Road, Burlington, NC.
